Annealed Binding Wires

Annealed Binding wires are wires made with carbon steel. They are used in different sectors for tying up or weaving purposes. They are used mainly in construction and agriculture sectors, for iron setting and tying up hay respectively. These wires are made with a thermal annealing process. During this procedure, metal is heated to surpass its recrystallization temperature, and then, it is cooled down. The annealing process of the wires is carried out either in batches, in the bell-type furnace, or it is carried out in a line, in an in-line type furnace. 

Needless to say that the former technique, allows for the production of a large number of wires in a short period of time. The wire made using this process is low in strength but high in ductility. This very feature makes it easy to work with. These types of wires are available in different diameters and lengths. Depending on the purpose or the nature of the project, the right size wire should be chosen. Generally, annealed binding wires are stored in the form of coils. A lot of times, the manufacturers also choose to store them as spools.

The storage of these wires also differs highly on the basis of their weight and dimension. By using the process called oxygen-free heat annealing, soft annealed binding wires are produced. These are different from the regular wires. Soft annealed binding wires have uniform stiffness and softness, great flexibility, and so on. Apart from oxygen-free heat annealing, there are also other kinds of annealing techniques that produce wires with varying features.

 These wires are open-hearth annealing and regular heat annealing. All these procedures improve machinability, remove residual stress, reduce the tendency to develop cracks and deformation, refine the grain, stabilize the size, and so on. Galvanization is a process where a piece of material, in this case, wires, is coated in zinc. The process ensures cathodic protection of the wires, i.e., the wires remain protected from corrosion and other impacts of the environment they are used in.
